The first trailer for Gerard Bush and Christopher Renz’s mind-bending trip to the pre-Civil War South, Antebellum, asks the question “What if fate chose you to save us from our past?”
Antebellum is produced by Sean McKittrick (of Get Out and Us fame) and stars Janelle Monáe as a woman from the 21st century who appears to have been transported back in time to a slave plantation where her ancestors were imprisoned. Eric Lange, Jena Malone, Jack Huston, Kiersey Clemons, and Gabourey Sidibe round out the cast.
Antebellum is scheduled to be released on April 24, 2020.
