It’s all about the blood.

Emma Corrin (The Crown) this week joined the cast of the remake of the 1922 silent horror classic Nosferatu, according to a report on Deadline. Corrin’s role in the feature was not revealed.

Corrin joins the previously announced Bill Skarsgard (in the title role), Nicolas Hoult, Lily-Rose Depp and Willem Dafoe in the cast. Shooting is expected to start in Europe sometime next month.

The Focus Features entry–written and directed by Robert Eggers–is described as “a gothic tale of obsession between a haunted young woman (Depp) in 19th-century Germany and the ancient Transylvanian vampire (Skarsgard) who is stalking her–bringing untold horror with him.”

The original Nosferatu–an unofficial adaptation of Bram Stoker’s novel Dracula–was directed by F.W. Murnau from a screenplay by Henrik Galeen. In the film, Count Orlok (Max Schreck) is a vampire “who preys on the wife of his real estate agent and brings a plague to their town,” according to the synopsis.
