Synopsis: The women of the Freak Show rally against Dell after his latest act of violence. A strange encounter with Dandy raises Jimmy’s suspicion about the clown murders.
Our Thoughts: Tonight’s episode begins with Jimmy taking taking the twins away from Dandy and back to their real home with the freak show, after realizing that Dandy is involved in the clown murders. After returning home, they change their story in an effort to remain on Elsa’s good side, but make a fool of Jimmy who was trying to expose the truth about her to the rest of the freaks.
Stanley witnesses Dell being violent at the gay bar and blackmails him into agreeing to kill one of the other freaks for him. In an amusing, karmic scene, he gets his ass kicked by Amazon Eve. He was an idiot to choose her in the first place, the one freak that could go up against him.
In the bleakest speech in any show I’ve seen lately, Ethel’s talks about cruelty of life and her belief that buying into hope will only leave you “dead in the water”. The women plot to murder Dell if Jimmy can’t take care of the situation. Jimmy and Dell drunkenly bond, though for a moment I thought Dell was going to kill him, and Jimmy reveals that he knows that he’s his father in a touching scene.
Elsa is resumes trying to pull strings with Dot, now that they have returned, to try and get the twins separated, so she can have the spotlight all to herself. Stanley suggests a “mercy killing” to Elsa, who is clearly trying to get rid of them any way she can as it is. What a disgusting team these two make!
This episode carries some tragically cruel turns with it. Penny’s father has her face tattooed and her tongue forked against her will, in order to make her the outcast she chose to be, and punish her for risking his reputation. Dell kills our sweet Ma Petite in a heart breaking scene, that we all knew was coming sooner or later. I find myself less creeped out and more disturbed and sad after episodes in this season of American Horror Story. Next episode looks like it will get back in the murderous swing of things, after a pretty subdued episode of the show. American Horror Story is off next week, but will return December 3rd.
