AMC Developing Another Series Based On Anne Rice Works

Vampires, witches…and more.

A third TV series based on the classic works of horror icon Anne Rice is in the pipeline, as AMC is developing shows based on the Order of the Talamasca, a secret organization that appears in both The Vampire Chronicles and Lives of the Mayfair Witches, according to a report on Deadline.

The new series–led by executive producer Mark Johnson–will follow Interview with the Vampire and Anne Rice’s Mayfair Witches, both of which are heading into their second seasons. No debut window has yet been announced.

The show–with John Lee Hancock (The Blind Side) attached as showrunner and writer–will deal with the Talamasca, a society of “psychic detectives” that researches, watches over and keeps track of the paranormal–which, of course, includes witches, spirits, werewolves and vampires.

The Talamasca “is one of the most intriguing elements of Rice’s works,” said AMC’s Dan McDermott, “and a connective thread through so many of her stories. The standalone and crossover potential for this third series is immense.”
