AMC Announces Casting of the Custer Family in ‘Preacher’ Season Three

AMC announced the actors who will be portraying Jesse Custer’s estranged family in Preacher Season 3 today, and for those who are not familiar with the Garth Ennis/Steve Dillon source material, things are about to get a lot more harrowing for our trio of misfits.

Tony award winner Betty Buckley (Supergirl, Split) will play the supernaturally gifted Gran’ma, Colin Cunningham (Falling Skies) plays the perverse TC,  and Jeremy Childs (The Last Castle, Nashville)  plays the sadistic Jody.

Liz McGeever (Star, Nashville) will also join the cast as Christina, described as “Capable and efficient, Christina has a face that lures customers in for her family business.”

Preacher stars Dominic Cooper as Jesse Custer, Ruth Negga as Tulip, and Joseph Gilgun as Casey.

At the end of  Season 2, “… with Tulip’s life and Cassidy’s friendship in the balance, Jesse must rely on a mysterious figure from his past in order to save his friends and continue on with his mission.”  These “friends” are of course the aforementioned dysfunctional Custer Clan that Jesse has tried to escape from all of his adult life.

Season 3 of Preacher is now in production in New Orleans and will return later this year on AMC.
