Amazon Developing Series From Underwater Thriller ‘The Deep’

Don’t make waves.

The Deep–the bestselling undersea thriller from the pen of Nick Cutter–is being adapted as a series by Amazon Studios by C. Henry Chaisson (Servant), according to a report on Deadline.

Very few details abut the series are known at this early stage, but Chaisson will write and serve as executive producer, alongside Carlton Cuse, Henrik Bastin and Melissa Aouate, No production schedule or release window was announced.

The Deep–published by Simon & Schuster in 2015–is set in the near future and centers on a research station at the bottom of the Pacific Ocean. It’s here that “a miraculous discovery signals new hope for humanity,” according to the synopsis, “but secrets unearthed on the ocean floor may hold devastating consequences for the world above.”
