by Rob Caprilozzi

A horror team up epic proportions was announced today as news broke that Allison Williams will star in M3GAN, a film being created by Blumhouse and James Wan’s production company Atomic Monster for Universal. In the film, Williams plays Gemma, a brilliant roboticist at a toy company. She uses artificial intelligence to develop M3GAN, a life-like doll programmed to be a kid’s greatest companion and a parent’s greatest ally. After unexpectedly gaining custody of her orphaned niece, Gemma enlists the help of the M3GAN prototype – a decision that has unimaginable consequences.

Akela Cooper (Malignant, The Nun 2, Luke Cage) wrote the script that is based on a story by James Wan, and Gerard Johnstone (Housebound) will direct the film.

In addition to the lead role, Williams will also serve as executive producer of the film, which will once again reunite her with the Blumhouse banner after her famous turn in Get Out.
