20th Century Studios has announced that they’re releasing a limited-edition version of Alien: Romulus on VHS which will be released on December 3, the same day the film debuts on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray and DVD.
According to IGN, the VHS edition of Alien Romulus will be a full-screen version of the film with a 4×3 aspect ratio, much like the “pan and scan” versions of movies on videotape released in the 1970s, ‘80s and ‘90s.
The official synopsis of Alien: Romulus reads “Space colonizers come face to face with the most terrifying life-form in the universe while scavenging the deep ends of a derelict space station.”
Directed by Fede Alvarez, Alien: Romulus stars Cailee Spaeny, David Jonsson, Archie Renaux, Isabela Merced, Spike Fearn and Aileen Wu. The film was released on August 16, 2024 and earned $350.7 million at the box office against a budget of $80 million.
