Sometimes, there’s just no escape from those zombies.
Another of famed author R.L. Stine’s YA horror novels is getting the big-screen treatment, as Zombie Town is currently shooting in Ontario for a theatrical and Hulu debut sometime next year, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The film–directed by Peter Lepeniotis–boasts an impressive cast that includes co-teen leads Marlon Kazadi and Madi Monroe, along with Henry Czerny, Scott Thompson, Bruce McCulloch–and Dan Aykroyd and Chevy Chase. Guess they’re finally ready for prime time.
In Stine’s novel, “a quiet town is upended when 12-year-old Mike and his friend Karen watch a horror movie–Zombie Town–and unexpectedly see the title characters leap off the screen and chase them through the theater,” according to the synopsis.
The executive producers include Trimuse Entertainment, Toonz Media Group, Lookout Entertainment, Viva Pictures and Kim Coates.
