Synopsis: Abe’s journey takes a new turn as he meets a twisted couple in this rural horror story of a domestic relationship gone terribly awry.
Our Thoughts: Another issue, another great Abe Sapien story. You can’t really go wrong when you have a team of all-star talent like this book has.
The interesting thing about Abe Sapien #12 is that Abe isn’t the focal point. We follow the troubled back story of a twisted man who randomly meets up with the titular character. Mignola and Allie do an excellent job of making it clear that sometimes monsters look like ordinary people.
Without question, Abe Sapien #12 is one of my favorite single issues of the year. If horror fans aren’t reading Abe Sapien, they are sorely missing out on a great horror-adventure series.
