From original series’ like The Last Drive-In to Creepshow to scooping up such incredible (and topical) documentaries like Scream, Queen! My Nightmare on Elm Street and Horror Noire: A History of Black Horror, Shudder has proven a force in horror/genre programming.
They had another hit on their hands this year with Cursed Films, a documentary series whose first season explored tragic events that befell the productions of Poltergeist, The Exorcist, Twilight Zone: The Movie, The Omen and The Crow.
Well now, Forbes has reported that Shudder is going to follow up with a second season.
Shudder GM Craig Engler announced that, “we’re delighted to say that we’re partnering with Jay [Cheel] once again for a second season of Cursed Films that will be even bigger and better than the first.”
Jay Cheel added, “filming season one of Cursed Films was an amazing experience, so I’m thrilled to have the chance to interview a new group of talented filmmakers and film critics while exploring the stories behind five more legendarily ill-fated film productions. This time around we’ll be heading outside of North America for a few episodes, which will not only widen the scope of the series but offer an exciting collection of stories connected to a diverse group of movies.”
The new series is expected to debut in 2021 and Shudder will release the “cursed” films to be examined at a later date so stay tuned to Horror News Network as we’ll be all over this!
