‘A Head Full of Ghosts’ adds Scott Cooper as Director

Love is in the air and ghosts are on our minds apparently because according to Deadline director Scott Cooper has been tapped to helm A Head Full of Ghosts set to star Margaret Qualley.

Cooper is known for his work on feature films like Crazy Heart, Black Mass and most recently Antlers. A Head Full of Ghosts will be his adaptation of Paul Tremblay’s Bram Stoker Award-winning horror novel of the same name.

The story follows 8-year-old Merry who’s older sister starts showing signs of an unending and horrifying affliction. As this happens the Barrett family is slowly tearing apart. 20 years later, Merry (Qualley) is confronted with her family’s traumatic past when a journalist named Rachel with a similarly haunted past looks into the case and causes Merry to relive the devastating memories of her childhood.

Although the screenplay is currently being written, no official release date has been set.

Since Mark was four years old he has always loved the horror genre, even when his mother would be a good parent and not let him watch such films. It was when he would sneak into the Horror section at the video store called Tommy K's that he would see all of the VHS covers of classics like Friday the 13th and A Nightmare on Elm Street.

During his time as a journalism major and news staff writer at Southern CT State University, he had the pleasure of meeting and interviewing paranormal investigator Lorraine Warren before a seminar in 2009 at the Lyman Center on campus.
