IFC Midnight Picks Up ANTIBIRTH

by Lynn Sorel

IFC Midnight has picked up the rights to Danny Perez’s Antibirth, which stars Natasha Lyonne, Chloë Sevigny, Meg Tilly, and Mark Webber.  It follows the story of a woman who lives in a trailer (Lyonne) and her best friend (Sevigny).  The spend their nights taking drugs and watching TV, and only leave their home to party with drug-addicted ex-marines and other outcasts. After one of these nights, Lou experiences a bizarre illness and psychosomatic visions that she can’t get rid of. She can’t remember anything from the night before and her symptoms grow rapidly, leading her to believe that she has been infected by something not of this world.

Perez said, “I’m excited to be teaming up with IFC Midnight. Their passion and understanding of this film felt like the perfect way to bring this unique story to the world. Natasha’s bold performance brings this challenging character to humorous life in ways fans of Lyonne haven’t seen her before. It was a pleasure to collaborate with such great talent.”

Cole Payne, Roger M. Mayer, David Anselmo, Justin Kelly and Lyonne produced the film, which premiered at Sundance 2016 in the Midnight section.
