‘Zombie Apocalypse’ And ‘Paranormal Activity’ Coming to VOD Early

Normally there is a 90-day window for theaters to offer new films exclusively. However Paramount announced today that it will be releasing  ‘Scouts Guide To The Zombie Apocalypse’ only 39 days after and  ‘Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension’ only 53 days after release to theaters.  ‘Scouts Guide To The Zombie Apocalypse’. which premiered in theaters October 30, will be released digitally on December 8.  ‘Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension’, which was released in theaters October 23, will hit VOD December 15.

Paramount struck a deal with theater chains which included AMC Theatres, Cineplex Entertainment, National Amusements, Alamo Drafthouse Cinema, Southern Theatres and Landmark Cinemas. The companies that participated will receive a percentage of the digital revenues.  While other theaters, including  Regal, Carmike and Cinemark, didn’t show the two films.
