Zac Efron to Portray Ted Bundy in Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile

Variety is reporting that Zac Efron will portray infamous serial killer Ted Bundy in director Joe Berlinger’s Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile.

The film is set to begin shooting on October 9th, 2017 and producer Nicholas Chartier was excited to sign Efron for the role, stating that “I have been trying to work with Zac Efron for a long time. From his dramatic turn in Paperboy to his hilarious performance in Neighbors, he continues to impress audiences and critics alike with his extraordinary versatility and range. We couldn’t be more excited to see him in this amazing role.”

Not much information is known about the film at this time other than that it is primarily focused on the “…dysfunctional relationship between Bundy and his long-time girlfriend Liz.”

This will be director Joe Belinger’s first major theatrical film, as he is best known for his documentary work including his three part Paradise Lost film series detailing “the West Memphis Three” case and the Metallica documentary Some Kind of Monster.
