Updates on CW’s ‘Friday the 13th’ Series

Deadline reported updates today in regards to the upcoming ‘Friday the 13th’ TV drama series from The CW. Based on the long-running feature franchise, ‘The Pretender’ creators Steve Mitchell & Craig Van Sickle will be writing the adaptation though CBS TV studios.

The series is said to re-imagine Jason in a more realistic way, and   described as a horror/crime thriller a detective searching for his missing brother,   whom he believes is tied to the long dead serial killer Jason Vorhees. Vorhees is now returned to Crystal Lake and wreaking havoc once again.

There were talks of a ‘Friday the 13th’ series last year, when a deal was struck with original creator Sean S. Cunningham and Emmett/Furla/Oasis Films and Crystal Lake Entertainment.
