UPDATE: ‘The Mist’ TV Adaptation Gets Series Order on Spike

We previously reported that a TV adaptation of Stephen King’s The Mist had gotten a pilot on Spike. The project, from TWC-Dimension Television, has now gotten a straight-to-series pickup.  The decision was made after hearing the series pitch the network said.

Sharon Levy, EVP, Original Series, Spike TV, said, “From the brilliant mind of Stephen King and the incredible production team at TWC-Dimension TV, The Mist will take audiences on a thrilling ride through a small town grappling with a mysterious and shocking horror.Christian and the entire team at TWC-Dimension TV have crafted the framework for a compelling and distinctive series that will resonate with Spike’s expanding audience.”

Bob Weinstein said, “We’ve had an incredible experience developing The Mist series with Christian, Sharon and her team and are eager to make this series a signature show for Spike.”

The series is going to begin production this summer and debut in 2017.
