Trailer For ‘Sleepless Beauty’ May Give You Bad Dreams

This new psychological horror film is definitely not your grandfather’s Sleeping Beauty.

This Russian thriller–Sleepless Beauty from Epic Pictures–made its world premiere at this year’s Imagine Film Festival and was an official selection for the Sitges Film Festival, the Dead of Night Film Festival and the Obscura Berlin Film Festival, as reported by A trailer and poster for the movie–which will debut next month–can be seen on this page.

Sleepless Beauty–directed by Pavel Khvaleev and starring Polina Davydova–tells a “twisted story about a young woman, Mila, who is kidnapped by a mysterious organization known as Recreation,” according to the official synopsis.

Mila’s unknown abductors “talk to her through loudspeakers and set strict rules–she cannot sleep and has to fulfill bizarre and violent tasks if she hopes to stay alive. Mila begins to realize she is losing control of her mind and may be a pawn in a twisted and deadly psychological experiment.”

Sleepless Beauty–with the revealing tagline, “Control is only a state of mind”–will be available on VOD and Digital platforms starting Nov. 10, and will be out on Blu-ray beginning Nov. 17. The Blu-ray version’s special features include a behind-the-scenes film, trailers and alternative scenes.
