The Walking Dead Weekly Wrap up- “The Grove”

Synopsis: The group finds a place to establish a new shelter.

Thoughts: **SPOILERS** So this week’s episode revolved around Carol, Tyrese, Lizzy, Mika and Baby Judith finding peaceful shelter. What could possibly go wrong?

Well, Lizzy is just more than a little messed up in the head. This child kills her own sister just to try to convince Carol and Tyrese that the walkers are “just like us,” then raises her gun and threatens Carol. Obviously, the most shocking part is the scene where we see Lizzy covered in her sister’s blood and getting ready to do the same to Baby Judith. Now, as we’ve seen over the past season, Carol doesn’t play around. She then takes young Lizzy for a walk in the woods… sort of like a “Sopranos” walk in the woods. You know what I’m talking about.

What we also saw this week was Carol gaining back some of her humanity after losing the two girls, and even confessing to Tyrese that she is the one who killed Karen.

As the show progresses and we see the younger members of the group grow up, the writing staff does a great job of staying cognizant of the apocalyptic atmosphere in which they are maturing. No matter how brutal or disturbing, this is reality for the kids. Making these children, like Lizzy and Carl, jaded and cold blooded stays true to what has become their upbringing, which is less nurturing and more scratching for survival everyday.

With only two episodes left in the season, what other twists and turns are around the corner for the members of the group?  See you next week to find out!
