‘The Unholy’ Starring Jeffrey Dean Morgan Gets New Trailer

2021 will be the year to get back to seeing movies in theaters and coming in a few weeks is The Unholy. Produced by Sam Raimi and starring Jeffrey Dean Morgan, the film has a new trailer that premiered on YouTube.

Check it out here:

Based on the 1983 James Herbert novel Shrine, the film’s story is about a young woman named Alice (played by Cricket Brown), who is hearing-impaired. After she is supposedly visited by the Virgin Mary, she becomes inexplicably able to hear, speak and heal sickly people. Word gets out about Alice’s miracle work and people come from all over to witness these mysterious acts. When journalist Gerry Fenn (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) visits the small New England town to investigate, he hopes the story will revive his career. After terrifying events start to happen around them, Fenn begins to question if this paranormal phenomena is the work of the Virgin Mary or something very evil.

Definitely no stranger to the horror genre, Morgan is known for his roles in The CW’s Supernatural as John Winchester, 2012’s The Possession and AMC’s The Walking Dead as the iconic Negan.

The Unholy is set for release on Good Friday, April 2, 2021.

Since Mark was four years old he has always loved the horror genre, even when his mother would be a good parent and not let him watch such films. It was when he would sneak into the Horror section at the video store called Tommy K's that he would see all of the VHS covers of classics like Friday the 13th and A Nightmare on Elm Street. During his time as a journalism major and news staff writer at Southern CT State University, he had the pleasure of meeting and interviewing paranormal investigator Lorraine Warren before a seminar in 2009 at the Lyman Center on campus.
