Ten Things You Might Not Know About … Army of Darkness!

1. Items in Ash’s trunk: Steam-Plant Operation, Fifth Edition, a Diet Coke Can, a box labeled “Daylighter,” Chemistry 101, jumper cables, shotgun shells, a toolbox, an     empty Coca-Cola Classic bottle, a gas can, rope, a handsaw, a Fangoria magazine, a flashlight, and a Boom-Box.

2. Sam Raimi had originally intended Ash to lose an eye in Army of Darkness.

3. In order to make it appear that Ash’s chainsaw was always running, tobacco smoke was pumped through a tube that was slid up his right pant leg, up his shirt,         and into the chainsaw.

4. Charles Napier was to play Ash’s boss at S-Mart, but his role was totally cut. Bridget Fonda was scheduled to have more screen time as Linda as well.

5. William Lustig, director of Maniac, Uncle Sam , and Maniac Cop makes an appearance as a “fake Shemp.”

6.  Bruce Campbell’s father and brother appear as “fake Shemps.”

7.  Sam Raimi’s brother Ted plays four roles in Army of Darkness.

8. Traci Lords auditioned for the role of Sheila.

9. S-Mart is chain of grocery stores in Mexico.

10. Marcus Gilbert, who played Lord Arthur, was severely ill with food poisoning when filming one of the major fight scenes.
