WonderCon 2019: NOS4A2 Panel and Press Room Buzz

AMC brought its upcoming horror-drama NOS4A2 to the massive 7,500 seat arena at WonderCon in Anaheim, California. Fans in attendance were treated to an advance screening of the first episode, a new trailer, and a panel with most of the cast and key creators of the show.

The show is based on the 2013 novel by Joe Hill of the same name and fans of the book will no doubt be wondering how the time jumps will be managed on a TV show. In the book, Vic McQueen (played by actress Ashleigh Cummings) realizes she has a special ability to find lost things at a very young age which would require a young actress. The creators of the show, including show runner Jami O’Brien and Joe Hill, made the decision to have Vic’s “power” become active as a teenage to minimize the time jumps.  read more

WonderCon 2019: Child’s Play Panel and Mark Hamill as Chucky?!?!

By far the biggest news coming out of this panel was the surprise drop of the new voice of Chucky: none other than Mark Hamill! Some people may know him from a little movie called Star Wars and if you are going to replace an icon like Brad Dourif then getting another icon is the way to do it. The fans in attendance were both shocked and elated when at the end of the exclusive trailer following the …’and as the voice of Chucky’ frame, the trailer cut away to video of Hamill announcing himself as the new voice of the sinister doll. The next several minutes were spent hearing how the cast felt about working with him and there were a lot of expected jokes about working with Luke Skywalker. The crowd was into it and it was a bit hard to concentrate on the cast on stage as so many were talking about what they just saw on screen. This was a huge bomb dropped right on the WonderCon fans and they loved it. read more

WonderCon 2018 – Friday Photos

It is WonderCon Weekend in Anaheim, California! This convention is one of the largest on the West coast (64,000 attendees in 2017) and is operated by the same team who bring San Diego Comic-Con to life each year. Known for its wide variety of exhibitors, excellent outside area for cosplay photos, and programs that need an arena to fit the crowds, WonderCon is a Southern California favorite. This year, WognderCon extended their offsite offerings to not just food trucks, but an “experience” as well. Fans could enter AMC’s “The Terror” for a preview of the new show in an atmospheric setting. Also new this year is Future Tech Live in the North Hall for demos of VR gaming. The cosplay was not just restricted to men: women and children got in on the fun, as well. So in honor of tonight’s season finale, here is the WonderCon Negan gallery.

WonderCon 2017: Saturday on the Show Floor

WonderCon Anaheim is being held March 31 through April 2, 2017 at the Anaheim Convention Center.  Now also known as Anaheim Comic-Con due to its affiliation with San Diego Comic-Con and its parent company, Comic-Con International, this convention is growing every year. Large and small press come to sell their wares, movie studios bring clips to impress thousands of fans in the Arena, and gaming companies bring their latest games to challenge the attendees. Because of the large outdoor area, the show is exceptionally popular with cosplayers. Brian Gray had his camera out and ready and got some great shots of creators, cosplayers, and horror merchandise. See the pictures below for a small sample of what this great show has to offer. read more
