Fox Cancels M. Night Shyamalan’s ‘Wayward Pines’ After 2 Seasons

Now there’s a twist you didn’t see coming! Executive producer M. Night Shyamalan’s Wayward Pines will not be returning for Season Three. TV Line reports that Fox has pulled the plug on the supernatural drama after mulling the decision over since this past summer.

Fans of the show haven’t particularly been holding their collective breath for more episodes, as Season Two’s finale last aired in late July of 2016- before the January 2017 release of Split– back when Shyamalan was known as a former director of satisfactory thrillers with twist endings and big budget disasters/education reform extraordinaire. Even if Fox wished to continue with the series, Shyamalan may have found it difficult to split his time between the television series and his successful new work on the big screen. Split was a box office surprise and it earned critical praise like Shyamalan hadn’t seen since 2002, and it’s follow-up, Glass, is currently in post-production. read more

‘Wayward Pines’ Creepy New Poster For Season 2 Released

 Key art for Fox’s season two of Wayward Pines was release today on   The creepy image features a baby hand grasping the hand of an “Abbie,” the word the locals call mutant humans who haunt the forest beyond Wayward Pines. The series takes place in the scary looking future of the year 4028. The Abbies forced the town into hiding after they discovered their existence.

Season two will feature two new leads, including Jason Patric and Djimon Hounsou. Nimrat Kaur, Josh Helman, and Kacey Rohl have also been added to the cast.   Returning cast members include Tom Stevens, Terrence Howard, Carla Gugino, Toby Jones, Melissa Leo, Tim Griffin, Shannyn Sossamon, and Charlie Tahan. read more

Jason Patric Cast in Season 2 of ‘Wayward Pines’

Jason Patric has been cast in the upcoming second season of Fox’s ‘Wayward Pines.’ M. Night Shyamalan executive produces the series which will return this summer.   Patric is cast as Dr.Theo Yedlin, a confident surgeon whose leadership skills that will become useful to the residents of Wayward Pines.

The second season picks up after the shocking end of season one, as the residents are in the midst of a battle with the First Generation.   Yedlin awakes from suspended animation and finds himself in the middle of the rebellion, and ultimately joins to help save the endangered human race. read more
