Trailer Released for Monster-Mash Video Game Movie ‘Rampage’

The trailer for Brad Peyton’s video game adaptation of Rampage was released today and promises all of the building smashing you remember from Bally’s coin-operated hit.

The film stars Dwayne Johnson, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Naomie Harris (Moonlight), Malin Akerman (The Watchmen), Jake Lacy (HBO’s Girls), and Joe Manganiello (True Blood).

In April, HNN reported on the plot details (as provided by SplashReport.com), stating that “Three canisters…crash land on Earth. One lands in the gorilla enclosure at the San Diego Zoo, the other in the plains of Wyoming and the last one in the Florida Everglades. The Griffin Technologies Group, headed by two siblings (Malin Akerman and Jake Lacy), tries to destroy any evidence of wrongdoing before the government finds out. It’s too late because the canisters have infected a gorilla named George, a wolf in Wyoming and an alligator. They start evolving and growing exponentially. To cover their track, the Griffin idiots decided to unleash a beacon that will make all three large animals head toward one destination: their head office located in the Willis Tower in Chicago.” read more

Trailer Released for Derf Backderf’s ‘My Friend Dahmer’ Film Adaptation

The trailer for the film adaptation based on the critically acclaimed graphic novel by Derf Backderf, entitled My Friend Dahmer, has just been released.

The film stars Ross Lynch in a very different role than he is used to (the actor is best known as Austin from the hit Disney Channel program Austin and Ally and actually didn’t know who Dahmer was when he was first approached to star in the film) as Jeffrey Dahmer, Anne Heche (Donnie Brasco) as his mother, and Dallas Roberts as his father. Vincent Kartheiser (Mad Men) portrays Dahmer’s physician, Dr. Matthews, and Derf Backderf is played by Alex Wolff (In Treatment). read more

‘The Walking Dead’ Season 8 and ‘Fear the Walking Dead’ Mid-Season 3 Trailers Debut at Comic-Con

The Walking Dead season 8 and Fear the Walking Dead mid-season 3 trailers debuted today at San Diego Comic-Con 2017.

The Walking Dead trailer is over five minutes long and contains more explosions than Arnold Schwarzenegger’s Commando.   It also has an odd (dream?) sequence at the end that has to be seen to be believed.

For those looking for a little more nuanced story-telling, Fear the Walking Dead’s tension-filled trailer shows some real trouble ahead for the occupants of Broke Jaw Ranch. read more

First ‘Polaroid’ Trailer Released

The first trailer for the late August horror film Polaroid has just been released.

In the Horror News Network’s Summer Horror Movie Preview, we discussed the origins of the the film, which is actually a remake of sorts, explaining that the film “…started as a 25 minute short film by Norwegian director Lars Klevberg (who is also on board for the American re-make/extension). Critics raved about the short film, and Variety described the new film as “the story of a high school loner, Bird Fitcher, who stumbles upon a vintage Polaroid camera tainted with a dark secret. She soon discovers the camera’s special power: those who have their picture taken are destined to have a tragic fate.”  If this sounds a bit like a new take on The Ring concept, you’re not alone.” read more

Teaser Trailer Released For Anne Hathaway Monster Movie, Colossal

I like Anne Hathaway and I like monsters. That makes me part of a very specific demographic that Hollywood is aiming for with Colossal, a new film where Anne Hathaway can psychically control a Pacific Rim style giant monster.

If you also like Anne Hathaway and monsters, check out the teaser trailer for the film below:

The film is written and directed by Nacho Vigalondo, a Spanish writer, actor, and director who has numerous horror and thriller projects on his resume (V/H/S ViralOpen Windows). After an eleven-year hiatus, The Ring saga literally returns to the well with the release of the Rings trailer! The spot begins with a young woman ripping her television off the wall to stop the all too familiar black & white video of a faceless girl climbing out of a well and walking toward the camera.

Paramount Pictures released the 2 1/2 minute trailer this week.  The clip serves as a primer for the legend of the “ring’.  We are reminded that there exists a disturbing video that people watch and, once they do, their phone will ring. They will hear an eerie voice saying, “Seven days.” The viewer will then die seven days after watching the video. read more
