Trailer for Season Eight of ‘American Horror Story’ is a Real ‘Apocalypse’

If you’re looking for mayhem, murder, and leather, the new trailer for American Horror Story: Apocalypse is sure to satisfy (and if the trailer seems incoherent and confusing, don’t worry, the season will be just as frustrating).

Season Eight of FX’s long running horror “anthology” series will bring together characters and story lines from previous seasons this time around, primarily Murder House (Season One) and Coven (Season Three).

Season eight also includes the return of Jessica Lange, who took a well-deserved break from the series after Season four’s Freak Show. read more

New Trailer for ‘Bad Times at the El Royale’ Promises Lies and Danger

Horror fans remember Drew Goddard as the co-writer and director of one of the surprise hits of 2012, The Cabin the Woods, and the writer/director is back with the genre-bending film Bad Times at the El Royale.

The star-studded cast features Jeff Bridges, Chris Hemsworth (who is returning to work with Goddard once again), Dakota Johnson, Cynthia Erivo,  Jon Hamm, Cailee Spaeny, Lewis Pullman, and Nick Offerman.  The tale brings seven strangers together at the infamous El Royale over the course of a single night and from the looks of the trailer, it doesn’t seem like it will go well for any of them. read more

‘The Nun’ TV Spot Warns You to Stay Out of that Coffin!

Just when you thought it was safe to get into a coffin, Warner Brothers had to show us otherwise in their new TV commercial for the upcoming entry in their ever-expanding “Conjure-verse”, The Nun.

The good ole’ “stuck-in-a-coffin” motif has been used in films and literature for centuries (after all, it was Edgar Allen Poe’s greatest fear, and he even wrote an essay about it called “The Premature Burial”), but never before have we seen two “people” stuck in one regular sized model. read more

Horror fans are very familiar with the antics of Simon Pegg and Nick Frost, primarily through Edgar Wright’s Shaun of the Dead and the rest of his “Cornetto Trilogy” (including Hot Fuzz and The World’s End.)

Although Wright doesn’t have any involvement in their latest collaboration, the boarding school horror comedy Slaughterhouse Rulez, the trailer seems to include a lot of what fans would expect from the duo.  Pegg and Frost are joined by Michael Sheen and Asa Butterfield in the film, directed by  Crispian Mills (who previously worked with Pegg on 2012’s A Fantastic Fear of Everything).  read more

Trailer Released for Monster-Mash Video Game Movie ‘Rampage’

The trailer for Brad Peyton’s video game adaptation of Rampage was released today and promises all of the building smashing you remember from Bally’s coin-operated hit.

The film stars Dwayne Johnson, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Naomie Harris (Moonlight), Malin Akerman (The Watchmen), Jake Lacy (HBO’s Girls), and Joe Manganiello (True Blood).

In April, HNN reported on the plot details (as provided by SplashReport.com), stating that “Three canisters…crash land on Earth. One lands in the gorilla enclosure at the San Diego Zoo, the other in the plains of Wyoming and the last one in the Florida Everglades. The Griffin Technologies Group, headed by two siblings (Malin Akerman and Jake Lacy), tries to destroy any evidence of wrongdoing before the government finds out. It’s too late because the canisters have infected a gorilla named George, a wolf in Wyoming and an alligator. They start evolving and growing exponentially. To cover their track, the Griffin idiots decided to unleash a beacon that will make all three large animals head toward one destination: their head office located in the Willis Tower in Chicago.” read more

‘The Walking Dead’ Season 8 and ‘Fear the Walking Dead’ Mid-Season 3 Trailers Debut at Comic-Con

The Walking Dead season 8 and Fear the Walking Dead mid-season 3 trailers debuted today at San Diego Comic-Con 2017.

The Walking Dead trailer is over five minutes long and contains more explosions than Arnold Schwarzenegger’s Commando.   It also has an odd (dream?) sequence at the end that has to be seen to be believed.

For those looking for a little more nuanced story-telling, Fear the Walking Dead’s tension-filled trailer shows some real trouble ahead for the occupants of Broke Jaw Ranch. read more
