The ‘Ghost Adventures’ Crew Explores ‘The Conjuring’ House in Two-Hour Halloween Special

Many people watch horror films on Halloween night.  Some opt for true tales of ghosts and demons via reality television programs.  This Halloween Zak Bagans and the Ghost Adventures team are combining the two flavors into a frightening taste combination in the form of their new two-hour Halloween special Ghost Adventures: Curse of the Harrisville Farmhouse (airing at 9 p.m. on Halloween on the Travel Channel).

In an interview with The Las Vegas Review Journal, Bagans explained the lure of the location and that “Ed and Lorraine Warren had received so much attention because of the movies and Hollywood that I really wanted to get in there and see the other details that weren’t really portrayed in the Hollywood films. I know there’s truth to it, but at the same time, I wanted to do my own investigation in such an iconic and well-known case.” read more

‘Annabelle Comes Home’: The Horror News Network Review

No horror franchise in the last decade has been as profitable as James Wan’s The Conjuring empire.  Ever since The Conjuring was released in 2013, anything associated with the ever-expanding tales from the files of renowned ghost hunters Ed and Lorraine Warren have been a license to print money, accounting for over $1.5 billion in worldwide sales.

And if the Conjuring-verse has an MVP, it is undoubtedly the porcelain-faced devil-doll known as Annabelle.  Ever since she was introduced in a vignette at the start of the original Conjuring film, it was pretty clear that she would go on to bigger and better things.  With three films to her name, she is one of the most easily recognizable faces of the horror genre for a whole generation of fans whose first cinematic scares came at her expense. read more

HNN Staff Members Remember Lorraine Warren

Monroe is a small town in the southern part of Connecticut, about an hour and a half from the most famous city in the world: New York.  Unlike the cosmopolitan confines of NYC, Monroe looks like many New England towns, with plenty of woods and pastures and a number of strip malls that contain pizza shops, antique stores, and barber shops.

I moved to Monroe in 1978 as a seven year old, and today I live about a mile from the border.  One constant in my life over all of these years is the one thing that put the small bucolic town of Monroe on the map: the presence of our very own world-famous ghost hunters, Ed and Lorraine Warren. read more

‘Annabelle Comes Home’ Trailer Features The Demonic Doll and Some of Her New Friends

The latest entry in The Conjuring franchise features not only the MVP of the group, that porcelain-faced rascal Annabelle, but a host of new and old friends in Gary Dauberman’s directing debut, Annabelle Comes Home.

The first trailer for the sixth entry in New Line’s cash cow puts the focus directly on the Warren’s world famous museum and many of the denizens contained within.  Annabelle, as the ring leader, stirs up the rest of those haunted and demonic critters and it appears that “all Hell breaks loose” while Ed and Lorraine are away investigating a case (and when will those baby sitters ever learn to stop snooping around that house). read more

Plot Details for The Conjuring 2 Spin-off The Nun Revealed

The plot synopsis for the Conjuring 2 spin-off The Nun is no longer “none” of your business!

According to Variety, “The story centers on a young nun at a cloistered abbey in Romania taking her own life, with a priest with a haunted past and a novitiate on the threshold of her final vows sent by the Vatican to investigate. Together they uncover the order’s unholy secret and confront a malevolent force in the form of the same demonic nun from The Conjuring 2.”

Variety also revealed that, “The Nun” is set for release on July 13, 2018 — a Friday the 13th.”  It appears that The Nun is positioning itself as one of the major horror contenders in the summer season of 2018, taking a date close to the July 19th date of the original Conjuring film (and what studio can resist releasing a horror film on Friday the 13th during any month of the year!). read more

Annabelle: Creation Trailer Released

The new trailer for Annabelle 2 (now titled Annabelle: The Creation) has just been released.

The trailer delivers the typical creepy doll and creepy kid moments one would expect from the sequel to the financially (although not critically) successful film.  The sequel will be directed by David F. Sandberg (who delivered scares to movie goers recently in the form of Lights Out) and is set for release on August 11th, 2017.  The original Annabelle ended up making $84 million dollars domestically and over $256 million dollars world-wide, so a sequel to the film was all but certain. read more
