‘The Simpsons: Thanksgiving of Horror’ Extends the Terror to a New Holiday

Just in case the Halloween season flew by for you, and you’re hankering for a Thanksgiving feast of animated thrills and chills, the producers of The Simpsons have an late gift to deliver to horror fans in the form of  “Thanksgiving of Horror”, a three segment anthology episode in the style of the annual Halloween special “Treehouse of Horror”.

The special episode will air on Sunday, November 24 at 8 pm on Fox and will also run almost 25 minutes long, making it the longest single Simpsons episode ever. read more

‘The Simpsons’ Annual ‘Treehouse of Horror’ Episode Includes Parodies of ‘Stranger Things’ and ‘The Shape of Water’

The Simpsons annual “Treehouse of Horror”episode not only hits some impressive milestones this year (number 30, or the much cooler looking roman numeral XXX, and the craftily-planned 666 episode in the longest running animated series in TV history), but it also takes aim at some of the hottest and critically acclaimed series and films such as Stranger Things and The Shape of Water.

In addition to the aforementioned parodies, the 30th “Treehouse of Horror” episode will also feature segments involving a demonic Maggie and Homer’s spirit possessing some new, more fit bodies. read more

Trailer for ‘The Simpsons: Treehouse Of Horror XXIX’ Released

One thing fans have counted on for the last thirty years is a new season of The Simpsons making their Sunday night a little less anxiety inducing before the work week begins.  And for 29 of those years, Simpsons viewers have also looked forward to the annual “Treehouse of Horror” episode, and we are happy to report that this season will again feature the perennial Halloween favorite.

The trailer for The Simpsons “Treehouse Of Horror XXIX” debuted at San Diego Comic Con today and one of the vignettes appears to be based on  1956’s cold war classic, Invasion of the Body Snatchers.   The air date for the episode has not been announced yet, but expect this year’s “Treehouse” to be released on October 27 or November 3 (post-season baseball usually dictates some of Fox’s schedule in the fall, and they have been known to air the Halloween episode after Halloween in some cases, even as late as November 7). read more

‘The Simpsons’ “Treehouse of Horror XXVIII” Features the Voices of Neil Gaiman, William Friedkin, and Ben Daniels

The Simpsons “Treehouse of Horror” Halloween and Horror-themed episodes have a long tradition of including parodies of classic horror films and television including jabs at Night of the Living Dead, The Shining, and the Twilight Zone, just to name a few.

This season’s episode (number 28 if you are keeping score at home) will feature parodies of The Exorcist, featuring the voices of Ben Daniels (who co-stars as Father Keane on Fox’s The Exorcist television program) and the director of the 1973 original that sent moviegoers running from the theaters and into their local churches, William Friedkin. read more
