The Discovery Channel’s Shark Week 2017 Viewing Guide

Horror fans and sharks have gone together like peanut butter and chocolate ever since Steven Spielberg gave us Jaws in the summer of 1975.  For many fans, it was their first horror experience and one that they have cherished ever since.

Although not as old as Jaws, the Discovery Channel’s annual Shark Week debuted in 1988 (and officially kicks off this year on Sunday July 23rd at 7:00 p.m.) and has continued to “wet the appetite” of shark enthusiasts everywhere.  Although the network end their episodes with warning about conservation and stories about sharks not being as dangerous as advertised, the network is happy to send us mixed messages with titles such as “Great White Shark Serial Killer Lives!” and “Devil Sharks”. read more

Farmer (Demon Queen, Cannibal Hookers, Dorm of the Dead) turns his camera to the creature feature genre with a twist.  A deadly great white shark terrorizes the small village of Paris Landing.  The beast is driven not by rage or revenge, but by the Devil himself.  Instead of a hardened shark hunter, the fishermen and swimmers must look to a Catholic priest to save their souls and his own. read more

Details on ‘Sharknado 4’ Released

Syfy revealed details about ‘Sharknado 4’ today. Tara Reid will be back to reveal the outcome of the social campaign, which asked fans to decide if she lives or dies.  Ian Ziering is reprising his role as Fin, along with David Hasselhoff as Gil Shepard and Ryan Newman as Claudia Shepard.   The fourth film will be five years later from where the last ended, where Fin and the country has been sharknado-free.

The cast of S4 will include Gary Busey (Lethal Weapon, Celebrity Apprentice) as April’s father and scientist Wilford Wexler, Tommy Davidson (Black Dynamite, In Living Color), as billionaire CEO of Astro-X Aston Reynolds, Cody Linley (Hannah Montana, Melissa & Joey), as Fin and April’s eldest son Matt, Imani Hakim (Everybody Hates Chris), as Matt’s best friend and fellow soldier Gabrielle, Masiela Lusha (George Lopez), as Fin’s cousin Gemini, and Cheryl Tiegs (The Apprentice), as Fin’s mother and Col. Gil Shepard’s ex-wife Raye.  read more
