‘Preacher’ Renewed by AMC for Fourth Season

Preacher fans prayers have been answered, as AMC just announced that the series based on Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon’s classic Vertigo Comics series will begin production on their fourth season at the start of the new year in Australia, according to Deadline.

David Madden, the President of Programming, Entertainment Networks for AMC praised the show’s originality, saying that “Preacher is a show unlike any other on television” and one that has “A passionate base of fans found their way to Jesse, Tulip and Cassidy and have followed along with their adventures, at times indescribable adventures, for three seasons. We are thankful to our partners at Sony and to Seth, Evan and Sam for everything they have brought to this series, which we are pleased to renew for a fourth season. Like the superfans of Preacher, we can’t wait to see where this journey leads next.” read more

‘Fear the Walking Dead’ Mid-Season 4 Trailer Released

If you’ve watched Fear the Walking Dead from the on-set of the series, you know that season four wiped away a lot of the essential characters and story lines that viewers saw as a more nuanced alternative to the parent program, The Walking Dead.  It appears that the rest of season four will continue with this “tradition”, based on the trailer’s introduction of a number of new faces and a greater focus on Lennie James’ Morgan and his fellow zombie fighters.

One surprise in the trailer in terms of casting was the appearance of veteran stage actor Stephen Henderson (most recently seen in Denzel Washington’s version of Fences).  If this is an attempt to bring some prestige to the production or just introduce a character that will serve as a mentor figure to one of the many confused, angsty refugees on the show, only time will tell, but it certainly can’t hurt! read more

Entertainment Weekly recently spoke to Kirkman about the changes and he stated that “I don’t want to spoil anything story-wise, but we are changing things a great deal. It’s really going to shake things up.” read more
