Stop-Motion ‘Spongebob Squarepants’ Halloween Special Coming this October

The mark of any cartoon’s longevity and/or popularity are the special event episodes.  These specials usually fall into three categories: Christmas, Halloween, and Anniversary, and if you have at least one of the three, chances are that your program will be remembered and successful.

For those who grew up in the 2000’s, no cartoon character has had the continued popularity of Nickelodeon’s Spongebob Squarepants.  Although, the clueless fry cook has had his share of Halloween episodes (and also introduced more young people to Nosferatu than ever imagined in the famous “Graveyard Shift” episode featuring the tale of the “Hash-Slinging Slasher”), he has never had one done in the classic stop-motion animation style of Rankin-Bass, until now… read more

Trailer Released for Derf Backderf’s ‘My Friend Dahmer’ Film Adaptation

The trailer for the film adaptation based on the critically acclaimed graphic novel by Derf Backderf, entitled My Friend Dahmer, has just been released.

The film stars Ross Lynch in a very different role than he is used to (the actor is best known as Austin from the hit Disney Channel program Austin and Ally and actually didn’t know who Dahmer was when he was first approached to star in the film) as Jeffrey Dahmer, Anne Heche (Donnie Brasco) as his mother, and Dallas Roberts as his father. Vincent Kartheiser (Mad Men) portrays Dahmer’s physician, Dr. Matthews, and Derf Backderf is played by Alex Wolff (In Treatment). read more
