First Image from Netflix’s ‘The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina’ Revealed

Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, the writer and Executive Producer of Netflix’s adaptation of Archie Comics’ The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, took to twitter today to share the first image from the upcoming series featuring Sabrina and her boyfriend Harvey.

The image features Sabrina Spellman (Kiernan Shipka) and Harvey Kinkle (Ross Lynch) “strolling down the avenue” into teenage romance and possible trouble, albeit of a more demonic nature.  The Netflix series is based on the 2014 comic book mini series (also written by Aguirre-Sacasa) and if the source material is any indication, this series will more closely resemble classic horror films, rather than the light-hearted Melissa Joan Hart sit-com which aired from 1996 to 2003. read more

Earlier this month, it was reported the new rendition of Sabrina the Teenage Witch is actually getting a two season order from Netflix rather than airing on The CW Network, and today series executive producer Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa has revealed the first piece of concept art for the series.

Looking just as twisted as the comics from which it originated, the artwork depicts the main character surrounded by vast woods observing a bright and burning fire.

Since finding a new home, it is currently unknown if the series will follow the continuity created by CW’s Riverdale. Originally, The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina comic book series featured a few appearances by Archie characters such as Betty and Veronica. Although, it primarily has a self-contained story narrative. read more
