IllFonic Releases Reveal Trailer for ‘Predator: Hunting Grounds’ on Playstation 4

IllFonic- the studio behind the recent Friday the 13th video game- are headed back into the forest… but this time they’re in search of a different kind of slasher! Their next game is based on the 1987 Arnold Schwarzenegger classic, Predator; and they just released a brief trailer for the project at today’s Playstation State of Play event.

Charles Brungardt, IllFonic’s chief executive, told Polygon that, “in the game, one group of players will control a fire team that packs conventional firepower; one player assumes the Predator role, and gets to use its trademark Plasmacaster. The paramilitary guys will be tasked with shooting up bad guys and recovering loot as the Predator closes in, tracking and ambushing its prey.” read more

Shooting Begins in Africa for Film Adaptation of Video Game ‘Monster Hunter’

The folks responsible for the Resident Evil film franchise are bringing a brand new video game to the big screen.  According to Deadline, principal photography has begun in both South Africa and Namibia on Monster Hunter, based on the wildly popular Capcom video game of the same name.  Sony arm Screen Gems will release the film nationally, with other companies handling the international distribution.

Paul W.S. Anderson, who previously worked on both the Resident Evil and Mortal Kombat film adaptations, will assume the writing and directing duties on Monster Hunter.  The star of those Resident Evil movies, Milla Jovovich, has already signed on to team up with Anderson again as the female heroine Artemis.  Joining Jovovich will be Hollywood heavyweight Ron Perlman (Hell Boy), rapper Tip ‘T.I.’ Harris, Tony Jaa (Ong-Bak: The Thai Warrior) and Meagan Good (Saw V) among others.  Completing the Resident Evil circle on this project are producers Robert Kulzer and Jeremy Bolt, with several others also serving in that capacity. read more
