Michael Dougherty’s 2007 horror anthology, Trick ‘r Treat has only grown in popularity in the years since it exploded onto the horror scene. Although the movie was originally released direct-to-video, it has become a steadfast Halloween staple in many horror households and fans of the film are committed to scooping up any related merchandise they can get their hands on. Due to limited availability, original Trick ‘r Treat trinkets have become very valuable in the aftermarket, and difficult for hardcore fans to obtain. Fortunately for us, Mezco Toyz has released an ultra-detailed 15″ vinyl figure of the movie’s popular pumpkin-headed lil’ monster: Sam!
Principal photography for the next Godzilla movie has officially begun today! While previous reports pegged the title as Godzilla: King of the Monsters, Warner Bros.’ press release from today did not specifically reference the title of the film by name. To coincide with the start of filming for the movie, Warner Bros. has released an official synopsis which reveals some key elements of the upcoming project:
“The new story follows the heroic efforts of the crypto-zoological agency Monarch as its members face off against a battery of god-sized monsters, including the mighty Godzilla, who collides with Mothra, Rodan, and his ultimate nemesis, the three-headed King Ghidorah. When these ancient super-species—thought to be mere myths—rise again, they all vie for supremacy, leaving humanity’s very existence hanging in the balance.” read more

Variety’s Justin Kroll explained how this “Mega-Monster Universe” took shape when “In October 2015, Legendary and Warner Bros. made a joint announcement that all future “King Kong” and “Godzilla” films would be developed by Legendary and distributed by Warner Bros., starting with Kong: Skull Island in March (3/10/17). Legendary currently holds a distribution deal with Universal, but in order to re-team Godzilla and King Kong, Legendary decided to send the rights back over to Warner Bros. to be able to create this new “ecosystem” of giant super-species, both classic and new.” read more
