Shudder’s ‘Joe Bob’s Red Christmas’ Marathon Brings Horror to the Holidays

The horror host with the most, Joe Bob Briggs, returns to Shudder on Friday, December 13 with an all-new Last Drive-In Special, appropriately titled for the holiday season as Joe Bob’s Red Christmas.  The triple feature will stream live at 9 p.m. (and it will also be made available on demand later in December, just in case your own holiday festivities get in the way).

Briggs is ready to kick off the Christmas horror, stating that “Every Christmas we try to get that perfect mix of movies the whole family can watch, plus movies that will cause every family member except dedicated horror fiends to run screaming from the room. That’s because we realize that Christmas celebrations can go either way. We think we’ve achieved that balance with Joe Bob’s Red Christmas , combining the cult, the classic and the bizarre in a holiday stew designed to keep you reaching for the egg nog or equivalent, and to keep Aunt Shirley complaining about your choices. In between the films we have holiday hijinks that are frankly embarrassing, because that’s also what Americans do on Christmas”. read more

‘The Last Drive-In’ Returns With ‘Joe Bob’s Halloween Hootenaany’ On Friday October 25

Nothing says the Halloween season like horror movie marathons, especially when they are hosted by everyone’s favorite movie expert, Joe Bob Briggs. To commemorate this occasion, a brand new installment of Shudder’s The Last Drive-In series lands on October 25 at 9 pm entitled Joe Bob’s Halloween Hootenanny!

While preparing for season two of The Last Drive-In, Briggs claims that “…we unearthed three forgotten gems that are all Halloween-themed and decided it was time for a Halloween Hootenanny.  Or maybe I’m lying about that and we’re programming three iconic Halloween favorites.  Or maybe we’re counter-programming with flicks that have absolutely nothing to do with Halloween. The great thing about spending October 25 with us is that, as Forrest Gump says, you never know what you’re gonna get. What we can promise is a) I will be ridiculously nerdy about horror, and b) Darcy the Mail Girl will probably disagree with me. It’s great to be back. I missed Shudder and the Shudder faithful.” read more

Shudder Presents Joe Bob Briggs’ ‘Dinners of Death’ This Thanksgiving

Movie marathons related to holidays are near and dear to every genre fan. This year, Shudder will celebrate two grand horror traditions on Thanksgiving Night with not only a horror marathon, but also the return of horror host Joe Bob Briggs for Dinners of Death. read more
