Kurt Russell on Chris Pratt’s Performances: “That’s My Kinda Guy”

Anyone who knows anything about Kurt Russell- the legendary actor behind classic John Carpenter heroes like Jack Burton, Snake Plissken, and R.J. MacReady- must’ve jumped right out of their seat when it was announced that he would be playing Chris Pratt’s father in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2He recently sat down with io9 to discuss his role in the upcoming film and to draw connections between his early work and Pratt’s performances. Russell practically invented the “sometimes heroic/sometimes hilarious cool dude” archetype, so it makes perfect sense that he play “Ego” to Pratt’s “Star-Lord.” Turns out, Russell is just as aware of this as the rest of us. While the premise of the highly-anticipated horror flick sounds like The Purge meets Office Space, fans will be the judge on whether or not the film is able pull off the perfect amount of humor and terror. read more

Wolf Creek Director Greg McLean’s The Belko Experiment Trailer Released

Ever wonder what it would be like to be trapped with your co-workers and supervisors in an office building indefinitely?  How about adding a little death and mayhem in the form of a Battle Royale-style “kill or be killed” game?  Well, wonder no longer!  From the minds of writer  James Gunn (Guardians of the Galaxy) and director Greg McLean (Wolf Creek) comes The Belko Experiment.

McLean spoke to Entertainment Weekly about the project stating that “Belko is an incredibly crazy script by James Gunn. There’s nothing else like it. Trust me. It’s a wild, wild movie. I’m so glad I got to direct it. James was great. We have a similar sensibility over the movies we like and the references we like. So, we clicked over those things. I think he’s a great writer, but he was great fun to work with, and really respectful of me taking over the project, and directing it.” read more
