‘Nightcrawler’ Alums Jake Gyllenhaal & Dan Gilroy Paint a Horrifying Picture in New Trailer for ‘Velvet Buzzsaw’

Writer/director Dan Gilroy and leading man Jake Gyllenhaal first showed us their collective dark side with 2014’s Nightcrawler. Set in the seedy underworld of Los Angeles, the subversive crime thriller became an instant critical darling and earned about five times its meager budget at the box office. Now, the two are re-teaming for a new film which captures the horrors of the modern art scene.

Netflix just released a new trailer today for Velvet Buzzsaw, a movie where, “mega-collectors pay a high price when art collides with commerce.” In the clip, tapestries come to life to maim, mangle, and burn their highfalutin owners. Arrow Video’s ‘Donnie Darko’ Limited Edition Blu-Ray: The Horror News Network Review

Over a decade before fans were fawning over Stranger Things‘ 1980’s horror and pop culture nostalgia, Richard Kelly practically invented this formula for homage with Donnie Darko. In celebration of the 15th anniversary of the film, Arrow Video has created a beautiful 4K restoration of both cuts of the movie, taken from the original film negatives. This version of the film was released in U.K. theaters for a short period in late 2016, and Arrow Video followed up with a definitive home video package for the movie, which contains these lovely transfers and a mountain of engaging special features.
