An ‘Insidious’ and ‘Sinister’ Crossover May Happen According to Jason Blum

In an interview with CinePop, producer Jason Blum dropped a horror bombshell on the possibility of an Insidious/Sinister crossover. The head honcho at Blumhouse Production went on to state:

“I hope so, I want to. We almost did ‘Insidious’ and ‘Sinister’ and I still feel like we might do that, so I think so. I think we’re going to cross our worlds at some point. I don’t know how yet, but we’re going to try.”

Released in theater less than a week ago, Insidious: The Last Key, continues to impress at the box office already surpassing $50 million dollars. This chapter of the film continues the story of series heroine, Elise Rainier, portrayed once again by Lin Shaye, as she seeks to rid the world of demons. ‘The Last Key’ Defeats ‘The Last Jedi’ at Weekend Box Office

Variety is reporting that Insidious: The Last Key defeated Star Wars: The Last Jedi at this weekend’s box office, knocking the film down from first place to third place in its fourth week of release.

Insidious: The Last Key (not to be confused with the Jedi hating Darth Sidious) is projected to finish second at this weekend’s box office with a solid $29 million.  The Last Jedi is projected to finish third with just under $24 million (although if you have paid attention to Jedi’s box office history, the film has performed below estimates every weekend so far, perhaps due to some “Jedi mind tricks” being performed on entertainment reporters by “Darth Disney-ous”). read more

Insidious: Chapter 4 Delayed Until January 2018

Unfortunately, Insidious fans are going to have to spend a little more time in The Further, waiting for Chapter 4 to hit theaters! Variety reports that the film has been pushed back from its planned October 20th, 2017 released date to make way for Universal Pictures’ and Sony Pictures’ “darkly comic” murder mystery, Half to Death. Apparently, the studios felt that moviegoers wouldn’t want to see two horror films during the Halloween season! Both films come from Blumhouse, hot off its massive success with Get Out. read more

James Wan Casts Longtime Collaborator Patrick Wilson in Aquaman

James Wan has great news for fans of his horror films. Patrick Wilson will play Ocean Master, Aquaman’s evil half-brother in Wan’s new Aquaman film.

Wan and Wilson have collaborated extensively in the past. Wilson has starring roles in both the Insidious and The Conjuring franchises, and Wan has often praised his work in interviews. In fact, James Wan once said that if he ever had the chance to direct a Batman movie, Patrick Wilson would be his first choice to play the caped crusader. Casting Wilson in this DC Universe role is pretty darn close to fulfilling that dream! read more
