Gillian Anderson Receives Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame

Emmy-winning actress Gillian Anderson has been honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, which was unveiled on Monday, Jan. 8.

Anderson’s star is the 2,625th since the completion of the Walk of Fame in 1961.

Known best for her co-headlining role of FBI Special Agent Dana Scully in the science fiction series The X-Files, Anderson received Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series Emmy nominations from ‘96 to ‘99, winning in ‘97 for her performance in the series. She won the Golden Globe award for Best Actress the same year. read more

Campaign for George Romero’s Walk of Fame Ceremony Announced

On July 18th of this year, the world lost an absolute legend in Mr. George A. Romero.  Romero, who was not only beloved within the horror genre, but incredibly influential to filmmakers all around. It was announced last year that he would be receiving a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, which if you ask any fan they would agree it is way overdue.

A fund raising effort has been set up to raise money for the ceremony to honor the Godfather of the zombie genre and director of Night of the Living Dead, Dawn of the Dead, Creepshow, Day of the Dead, amongst many others.  Romero’s friend, and fellow legend, Malcolm McDowell appears in a short video on the page via Generosity. read more
