Craig William Macneill to Direct LIZZIE BORDEN, Starring Chloe Sevigny & Kristen Stewart

Announced in Cannes today, Craig William Macneill (The Boy) will be directing the upcoming psychological thriller Lizzie Borden.   Based on the infamous  murders, Chloe Sevigny and Kristen Stewart will star in the film.

The story will follow the events that led up to the murders, with Sevigny starring as Borden, and Stewart as the young maid Bridget whom she befriends.   Borden was acquitted of the 1892 murders of her father and stepmother. No one else was charged.   Bryce Kass wrote the script for the film, which will be produced by  Naomi Despres. read more

Michael Spierig & Peter Spierig to Direct WINCHESTER

Michael Spierig and Peter Spierig (Daybreakers, Predestinaton) are attached to direct Winchester. The supernatural thriller is based on the infamous Winchester House of San Jose, CA.  The pair wrote the script as well. 

The story is centered around the heir to the Winchester firearms fortune Sarah Winchester, whose husband and child past away suddenly.  She believed she was cursed by the legacy of “gun that won the west” and proceeded to consult a medium. Synopsis: A family in 1630s New England is torn apart by the forces of witchcraft, black magic and possession. 

 

Our Thoughts: ‘The Witch’ follows a Puritan family who leaves the plantation they were living due to a conflict of beliefs. They build a house and farm of their own and begin the new lives. One day, their new born baby is stolen by a witch who lives in the woods, while their oldest daughter, Thomasin, is playing with him. The witch, portrayed as a creepy, naked elderly woman, kills the child, churns his blood and rubs it on her body. read more
