Scottish Family Offers £50,000 for Nanny Job in Haunted House

Do you enjoy working with children? Would you like to earn £50,000 per year with vacation day benefits, including your own suite with a private kitchen and bathroom? According to The Telegraph, a family living in the Scottish Borders is ready to hire you for your dream job! But there’s a small catch…

It’s haunted! And it doesn’t have a particularly good track record with nannies. As the family tells it in the job listing:

“We have lived in our home for nearly 10 years. We were told it was ‘haunted’ when we bought it, but kept our minds open and decided to buy the house regardless. 5 nannies have left the role in the last year, each citing supernatural incidents as the reason, including strange noises, broken glass and furniture moving. This has obviously been a period of great upheaval for our children. We haven’t personally experienced any supernatural happenings, as they have been reported only while we’ve been out of the house, but we’re happy to pay above the asking rate, and feel it’s important to be as up-front as possible to find the right person.” read more

Books like “Driver for the Dead” and “Hotwire” were some of the best and most beautiful horror comics every made. Luckily, one of those remarkable books is on its way to film: “Abattoir” by Darren Lynn Bousman (Saw II, III, and IV). read more

Damon Williams of Music Choice Talks About Programming Halloween’s Sounds of the Season

Music adds a special spice to all holiday activities, and aside from the undisputed champ of holiday tunes (that would be Christmas), every holiday has a certain soundtrack to help in the celebrations.  Albums, radio station playlists, cds, and the traditional local television station’s “Yule Log” have all helped deliver the music of your favorite seasonal holiday for generations.

While many of these traditional formats are still nostalgically revered  by fans, in the digital age, it is much easier to access beloved classics on a computer, phone, or cable television connection.  The world’s first digital audio broadcast service company Music Choice (originally named Digital Cable Radio) has been delivering content to listeners since 1987 and one of their staple channels is the ever-changing “Sounds of the Seasons” (and for horror fans, there is one season that holds a special place in all of our hearts… ).  Regardless of what cable provider that you may subscribe to in your region, there is a very good chance that they carry the Music Choice service as their exclusive music provider, allowing fans access to a diverse mix of Halloween favorites. read more
