‘The Walking Dead’ Producers Sue AMC Networks over Failure to Pay Fair Market Value

According to the Hollywood Reporter, it looks like AMC is getting sued again, and this time The Walking Dead’s original producer Frank Darabont is not the plaintiff!

This time around, the current production team of Robert Kirkman, Gale Anne Hurd, Glen Mazzara, and David Alpert “…maintain AMC has failed to pay fair market value in the license fee for the series because the show is produced by its in-house AMC Studios arm.”   The lawsuit includes the trinity of AMC’s The Walking Dead stable:  The original program, Fear the Walking Dead, and even Talking Dead. read more

Frank Miller’s Sin City Being Brought to Television by The Walking Dead’s Glen Mazzara

Deadline is reporting that Glen Mazzara (show runner for early seasons of the Walking Dead) will be writing and producing a new television series based on Frank Miller’s Sin City.

Mazzara is joined by “Underworld helmer Len Wiseman, whose TV credits include Sleepy Hollow and Lucifer, will direct. Stephen L’Heureux (Sin City: A Dame To Kill For) will oversee and produce with Miller, Mazzara, Wiseman and Bob & Harvey Weinstein.”

The program will reportedly “… be a far departure from the films, introducing original characters and timelines within the Sin City universe.”   It is unclear if the series will follow the cinematic style of the films or the artwork of the comic at this time, or if it will go in a more realistic direction. read more
