Horror Block Parent Company Nerd Block Files for Bankruptcy

Have you been anxiously waiting by your mailbox for the latest Horror Block to arrive?  Well, it is probably time to go back inside because after months of missed shipments, uncertainty, and delays, Nerd Block (the makers of Horror Block) have filed for bankruptcy.

Kotaku UK is reporting that the subscription box company filed for bankruptcy, stating that “As the company has filed for bankruptcy, and has massive debts to numerous stockists, those with subscriptions will not receive any further items, and should contact their bank about preventing any further charges.” read more

Funko Announces New Line of Pennywise Pop! Vinyls

As with most major toy manufacturers, Funko made quite a splash at San Diego Comic-Con 2017 with the reveal for several convention exclusives.  However, for horror fans they may have saved their best announcement for afterwards.  On Monday afternoon, Funko announced (via their Facebook page) that they will be releasing four different Pop! vinyl versions of IT‘s most lovable little rascal, Pennywise the clown.  While we’re sure that the members of the Losers’ Club aren’t far behind, Funko is putting its best (and scariest) foot forward in unleashing the cosmic shape-shifter upon the collecting masses. read more

Funko to Release Stranger Things Line of Pop! Vinyl Dolls in 2017

Toy heavyweights Funko, the company behind the popular re-Action and Pop! vinyl lines, announced on Monday that they will be producing a line of Pop! vinyl figures for the surprise hit Netflix series Stranger Things.  The dolls are due to hit toy stores and online merchants in early 2017.

Funko made the announcement via their website, after successfully gauging fan interest for a possible line based on characters from the show.  Last month, the company posted concept images of Eleven and Barb online and were overwhelmed by the amount of interest they generated on social media.  Funko’s Director of Marketing, Mark Robben, shared the same sentiment while expressing gratitude for the positive response from the show’s rabid fanbase. read more

Funko Teases a Third Edition of Horror Mystery Minis

Our friends at Funko are at it again with their third series of horror-movie themed Mystery Mini figures. With over 50 versions of Mystery Mini toys, including four series’ of The Walking Dead, two series’ of Horror Classics and two WWE series’, Funko has built quite a following among genre fans and toy collectors who eagerly await the next big release.

Both previous series’ of the Horror Classics sets were wildly popular as they included figures of famous horror characters like Hellraiser’s Pinhead, Freddy Krueger, Jason Voorhees, Frankenstein’s Monster and many more. The folks over at PopVinyls got the skinny on set three which looks to include not only alternate versions of Jason Voorhees and Freddy Krueger but also a host of other horror goodies such as Jack Torrance and the Grady twins from The Shining, American Psycho’s Patrick Bateman, Universal’s Mummy and The Wolfman, The Exorcist’s Regan MacNeil and more! read more
