Devs, the mysterious new limited series from writer/director Alex Garland, is finally ready to make its debut. Fans of Garland’s previous work on Ex Machina and Annihilation have been eager for crumbs of information about the series ever since it was announced and its impressive cast of starring actors was revealed (frequent Garland collaborator Sonoya Mizuno, Nick Offerman, Stephen McKinley Henderson, Jin Ha, and more). FX has finally pulled back the curtain and released a full-length trailer for Devs, which you can watch below:
Talk about starting off with a bang! Lionsgate Films’ theatrical adaptation of Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark is off to a great start, pulling in $2.3 million in its Thursday night premiere run in just over 2,500 locations throughout North America. Scary Stories faces strong competition in its opening weekend, with other strong debuts expected from Nickelodeon’s Dora and the Lost City of Gold and Disney’s The Art of Racing in the Rain also fiercely vying for teenage movie-goers. The strong one-night ticket sales bodes very well for the film, which had garnered pre-release buzz in recent weeks among both the younger-skewing as well as hardcore horror audiences. read more
Cable channel Freeform recently announced via twitter that they would be expanding their popular 13 Night’s of Halloween to 31 Night’s of Halloween.

Freeform (formally known as ABC Family) has also announced that they will be celebrating the 25th Anniversary of Hocus Pocus during this event, along with a special entitled Decorating Disney: Halloween which will give viewers an inside look at how the Magic Kingdom is transformed for the Halloween season. read more
While scheduled re-shoots of big-budget Hollywood films are nothing new, adding an entirely new character into the fold during them is. This is precisely what Twentieth Century Fox will be doing with the horror-themed comic book film The New Mutants, set for an additional round of photography this summer. According to The Hollywood Reporter, in addition to new and revised scenes being shot a new character will be introduced into the mix as well. Women in Horror month continues with the exciting announcement that every 90s kid’s three favorite witches are returning to the public spotlight! Some fans were left wanting a little more nostalgia after the Septermber announcement that the upcoming Hocus Pocus TV movie on the Disney Channel would be a remake rather than a direct sequel to the popular 1993 film. But now, Disney has announced that the famous Sanderson sisters will also have a new adventure of their own this year!
Oh My Disney reports that a new book entitled Hocus Pocus and the All-New Sequel will hit store shelves on July 10th, 2018, just in time for the 25th anniversary of the original movie! The novel will be composed of two parts, with the first section devoted to a “fresh retelling of the original film,” and part two being a direct sequel which will continue the Hocus Pocus storyline.
