At the recent The Game Awards 2017 in Los Angeles, Hideo Kojima and the team at Kojima Productions released an eight-minute trailer for the highly anticipated Death Stranding video game. The trailer opens with the main character, played by The Walking Dead’s Norman Reedus waking up on the ground in the middle of a rainstorm. As he pulls himself to his feet we see that him and his fellow crew members have perhaps crashed on what could be another planet. Tension mounts as the viewer sees mysterious enemies taking the lives of his fellow travelers. The trailer ends with the Reedus character holding a special package.
Hideo Kojima is back on the block after his very public falling out with Konami. Every since the terrfying P.T. (a playable teaser for Silent Hills, a game meant to be Kojima’s and Guillermo Del Toro’s take on the legendary Silent Hill franchise) dropped on Playstation 4, fans have been clamoring for the video game legend’s take on a full size horror game. But it wasn’t meant to be. Around the time of the release of Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, Konami began to publicly force Hideo Kojima out of the company and shifted focus away from producing AAA titles for home consoles. read more
