‘Suspiria’ Director Luca Guadagnino Discusses Remaking the Argento Classic and Potential Sequels

Deadline recently conducted an in-depth interview with Suspiria director Luca Guadagnino, and as always, he was very forthcoming with his answers about the sure to be misunderstood remake.

The director of the academy award winning film Call Me By Your Name, recalled seeing “…the poster for Dario’s movie when I was 11 in 1982. I saw the film two years later. It made an incredible impression on me. The idea of trying to transfer the explosive emotion I felt into a new movie began almost immediately.  Dario’s movie is evocative of so many things including of motherhood. It’s the story of a group of women united by an obscure agenda. There is something that I couldn’t stop thinking about. For all the violence of Dario’s movies they are also beautiful fairy-tales. There is something alluring about it for a young person.” read more

The New Poster Art for the ‘Suspiria’ Remake has Arrived

Suspiria, Suspiria, Suspiria…should we say it again? Why not, it seems to be all that everyone is talking about lately! Last week we brought you the newest trailer for Luca Guadagnino’s much-anticipated remake of Dario Argento’s classic (click here for that) and this week brings the latest bloody artwork.

From the official synopsis:

First Full Trailer for ‘Suspiria’ Reboot is Here

After months of speculation about what to expect from Luca Guadagnino’s take on Dario Argento’s most celebrated film, Suspiria, we finally have a full trailer to whet our appetites while we await the film’s release this fall. What we see in the two and a half minute trailer of the two and a half hour film is equal parts tension and suspense with just a tiny bit of the gore that shocked the crowd at CinemaCon this past April when they were showed a full scene (read more about that here). read more

First Trailer for ‘Suspiria’ Reboot Has Arrived

Just last month Amazon Studios debuted a clip of Suspiria (2018) at CinemaCon in Las Vegas and the reaction was pure shock and disgust. Now we have our first trailer and while we get no dialogue, we can sense the tension between Susie (Dakota Johnson) and Madame Blanc (Tilda Swinton). Along with the the sharp visuals comes some rather unsettling music. Director Luca Guadagnino tapped Radiohead’s Thom Yorke to score the reboot (the 1977 original was of course done by Italian legends Goblin). read more

First Look and Release Date for ‘Suspiria’ Reboot

The horror world has been abuzz for a few years now with talk of the remake of Dario Argento’s 1977 classic Suspiria and we now have our first look at Dakota Johnson as Susie Bannion as well as a firm release date for the film.
