CT HorrorFest Rocks Danbury

This past Saturday, thousands of horror fans descended upon the Danbury Ice Arena in Danbury, CT to check out the fourth annual CT HorrorFest, Connecticut’s only convention dedicated to the horror genre. By 8am, there was a line down Delay Street of folks dressed in costumes and others wearing t-shirts depicting their favorite horror films.

While the festivities didn’t technically begin until 11am, doors were opened at 10am to allow those who ordered tickets in advance an extra hour to take in the ghoulish sights inside. Those folks had first dibs on tons of vendors that were set up inside of the arena; some selling horror-related merchandise, others selling their books and still others selling films both popular and independently made. read more

Dawn of the Dead’s Ken Foree Announced for CT HorrorFest 2017

The co-founder of CT HorrorFest, Rob Caprilozzi, announced this week that actor Ken Foree will be appearing at this year’s convention.

Caprilozzi stated that, “Ken Foree is a horror movie icon. In his 40 year career, no matter what film he is in, he always manages to stand out.”

Foree is best know to horror fans as Peter from George Romero’s Dawn of the Dead (and what most fans don’t know is that he also worked with Romero on his Medieval motorcycle cult film Knightriders as well).  Foree also starred in Stuart Gordon’s H.P. Lovecraft adaptation From Beyond, playing Bubba Brownlee, a favorite of hard core horror fans of the 1980’s. read more
