Katie Sarife Joins Latest ‘Annabelle’ Film

Deadline is reporting that Katie Sarife has been added to New Line’s upcoming Annabelle film. Sarife will play the role of Judy Warren’s cousin and babysitter. The actress joins the previously announced Madison Iseman and McKenna Grace filling out the lead roles.

Annabelle marks the sixth title in the franchise as the story centers on the Annabelle doll wreaking havoc in the Warren’s Artifacts Room. The film is written and directed by Gary Dauberman.

Untitled ‘Annabelle’ Sequel Adds Mckenna Grace

According to Deadline, Mckenna Grace has signed on to play Judy, the young daughter of Ed and Lorraine Warren in the upcoming Annabelle sequel. The third film in the Annabelle franchise is said to focus on the interaction between the evil doll and Judy.

Gary Dauberman (IT) will write and make his directorial debut on the project with Peter Safran and James Wan producing. The untitled project marks the sixth film in The Conjuring Universe, which has been a massive box office success, grossing more than $1.5 billion worldwide. read more

Youtube Removes Latest Ad for ‘The Nun’ For Policy Violations

Youtube removed the latest “ad” (in reality a six second clip that featured the Nun growling/screaming after 4 seconds of darkness) due to violations of their “shocking content policy”.

Reportedly, many viewers took to twitter to complain about “the shocker” (not to be confused with the Wes Craven film starring Mitch Pileggi) and Youtube jumped to their rescue, removing the complete waste of time from their channel.

‘The Nun’ TV Spot Warns You to Stay Out of that Coffin!

Just when you thought it was safe to get into a coffin, Warner Brothers had to show us otherwise in their new TV commercial for the upcoming entry in their ever-expanding “Conjure-verse”, The Nun.

The good ole’ “stuck-in-a-coffin” motif has been used in films and literature for centuries (after all, it was Edgar Allen Poe’s greatest fear, and he even wrote an essay about it called “The Premature Burial”), but never before have we seen two “people” stuck in one regular sized model. read more

New Line Moves ‘The Nun’ to September

New Line Cinema is moving The Conjuring Spin-off The Nun to a less competitive fall release date, praying that lightning strikes twice for the company on September 7th.

Last year, New Line debuted It on the same weekend in September and laughed like an evil clown all the way to the bank, as the film dominated the fall box office.  While The Nun will certainly do less business at the box office than It did, the move is a smart one for the company.   The Nun was originally scheduled for a mid-July release, sandwiched between Ant Man and the Wasp, the fourth Purge film, and the recently rescheduled The Equalizer 2. read more
