Scares That Care Weekend 2016

Scares That Care Weekend is a yearly event put on to raise money for sick children, burn victims, and women fighting breast cancer. It is held every year in Williamsburg, Virginia. Attending this years Scares That Care, I learned a bit about the event’s history,  starting from an idea sparked from the tragic loss of a child, to a successful event benefiting many families who need help fighting real monsters.

A complete non-profit IRS approved, 501(c)(3) charitable organization run by a staff made entirely of volunteers, Scares That Care Weekend has just successfully completed its third chapter and changed the life of breast cancer survivor Heidi. During the convention’s costume contest on Saturday night CEO and founder Joe Ripple surprised Heidi with a check for $10,000. read more
