Trailer Debuts for Chloë Sevigny’s Lizzie Borden Film, ‘Lizzie’

In the world of true crime, fewer are more infamous than Lizzie Borden, the prime suspect in the axe murders of her father and stepmother. The upcoming film, Lizzie, aims to tell the story of what happened to a modern audience. The film stars Chloë Sevigny as Ms. Borden and Kristen Stewart as Bridget Sullivan, Lizzie’s confidant and maid to the Borden family. The cast is impressive all-around, with supporting roles played by Kim Dickens, Fiona Shaw, and Denis O’Hare. Craig William Macneill to Direct LIZZIE BORDEN, Starring Chloe Sevigny & Kristen Stewart

Announced in Cannes today, Craig William Macneill (The Boy) will be directing the upcoming psychological thriller Lizzie Borden.   Based on the infamous  murders, Chloe Sevigny and Kristen Stewart will star in the film.

The story will follow the events that led up to the murders, with Sevigny starring as Borden, and Stewart as the young maid Bridget whom she befriends.   Borden was acquitted of the 1892 murders of her father and stepmother. No one else was charged.   Bryce Kass wrote the script for the film, which will be produced by  Naomi Despres. read more
