Sophie Cookson Cast in ‘Conjuring’ Team’s ‘The Crucifixion’

Sophie Cookson (Kingsman: The Secret Service)  has been cast in ‘The Crucifixion’ from the team that made ‘The Conjuring’.  It is being produced by Peter Safran (The Conjuring, Annabelle) from a script by Chad and Carey Hayes, who wrote the screenplay for ‘The Conjuring’.  The film is going to be directed by Xavier Gens (The Divide, Hitman) and is based on true events.

Principle photography began today in Romania. The story is centered around a priest who is charged in the murder of a nun he was performing an exorcism on.  An investigative journalist gets involved to try and determine whether it was a real possession or a mentally ill person was killed.

Motion Picture Captial is financing and producing, along with Safran and Lotus Entertainment.
