Saban Films has acquired the rights to Rob Zombie’s ’31’ and has set a release date of September 16. The film stars Sheri Moon Zombie and Malcolm McDowell. Zombie wrote and directed the film, which centers around five carnival workers who are kidnapped and held hostage in an abandoned compound, and are forced to partake in a violent game of survival against a gang of sadistic clowns for 12 hours. It was financed by Bow and Arrow Entertainment and co-produced with Spectacle Entertainment Group.
Saban Films president Bill Bromiley said, “31 is a treat not just to horror fans, but fans of true auteur filmmaking. The film is executed in true stylistic Zombie fashion. Rob is an unrivaled talent, and we are thrilled to bring his bold new film to audiences across the continent.”
